Hardware:

Computers and laptops have mechanical parts which attract dust. The dust that your system attracts can cause your system to fail. In a nut shell, dust settles on the heat sink which can prevent fans from removing the hot air from the CPU. This can cause the system to overheat, and at best, run irregularly and at worst, restart, crash or even stop working altogether.

Regular servicing can prevent this or give an early indication of expected failures. Servicing should be carried out at least once a year, more if your system resides in a dusty environment. Enclosed places can also harbor dust as this can allow the dust to settle.

What to look out for:

Identifying whether your system is in need of a service can often be very a simple procedure. If you have had your system for longer than a year in which time you have not had it serviced, then you might need to think about getting IT serviced.

Visually, have a look around the edges of the dvd drives, air vents, psu - where the black plug fits, or if there is dust around the back of the system. This can indicate whether there maybe dust clogging up inside. But the best way - but not always possible - is to remove the system's side panel and have a good inside. This will tell you straight away if there is too much dust and if your system requires a service.

Software:

Software service should also be carried out at least once a year. This will insure that your Operating System is running at it's opium. Check disks, system File Checking, Power Optimizing settings, MS Configurations settings and software updates are just some of the services we attend to achieve stability from your system.
